Puducherry inks pact with RBI

PUDUCHERRY: The Government of Puducherry on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for upgrading the Urban Co-operative Bank in Puducherry.

According to a release, the RBI would be assessing the training, computerisation needs of the bank to upgrade human resources skills and technological infrastructure.

Executive Director of RBI, Mumbai, V.S. Das and Secretary to the government of Puducherry T.M. Balakrishnan signed the pact. The Registrar of Cooperative Societies, the Managing Director of Pondicherry Co-operative Urban Bank and executive officers of the RBI and the Co-operatives Department were present, the release said.
