Make efforts to promote Sharana Sahitya: swamiji

SHIMOGA: Dingaleshwara Swamiji of Balehosur in Haveri district on Thursday stressed the need for concerted efforts for preserving and promoting Sharana Sahitya.

Speaking after inaugurating a Sharana Sahitya Sammelan at Murugha Math at Anandapuram in Sagar taluk, he said that it was the responsibility of the Sharanas to make efforts to protect the Vachanas.

Stating that Sharana sammelanas would go a long way in enhancing the significance of the Vachanas of the Sharanas, the swamiji said that it was unfortunate that no serious efforts were being made to promote Vachanas.

Lecture

Research scholar Jayadevappa Jainakere delivered a lecture.

Maheshwara Shivacharya Swamiji of Keladi Rajaguru Hiremath presided over the function.

Mallikarjun Murugharajendra Swamiji of Bekkinakal Math spoke.

Siddheshwara Swamiji of Virakta Math in Shiralkoppa, Shivalinga Swamiji of Bannada Math in Sirsi, Prabhu Swamiji of Guttal, Siddhalinga Swamiji of Kavaliedurga, the former MLA H.M. Chandrasekharappa and member of the APMC Bharmappa were present on the occasion.

H.M. Sadananda welcomed the gathering. K.R. Raju proposed a vote of thanks.
