Service to be launched first in Andhra Pradesh Special cardiac zones to be put up by MedPlus HYDERABAD: MedPlus Healthcare Services has tied up with Wockhardt Hospitals to improve access to quality cardiac care services. Disclosing this at a press conference here on Thursday, CEO and founder of MedPlus Madhukar Gangadi said that it would be a healthcare access model through which modern medical care is offered to the needy at their localities. This service would be initially available in Andhra Pradesh. The partnership with Wockhardt Hospitals would address cardiac care needs at two levels - preventive care and comprehensive non-invasive treatment services. MedPlus would establish special cardiac zones across its clinics where cardiac specialists from Wockhardt would be stationed to offer consultancy services for early diagnosis as well as post-operative care. With regard to preventive care, MedPlus and Wockhardt would send teams in mobile cardiac care screening units to tier-II and tier-III towns. Sudhaker Jadhav, head of operations, Wockhardt Hospitals, Hyderabad, said that the fact that a third of deaths in India were due to heart ailments, was the reason for conceiving the project. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
