5.35 cr. earned from auction of ad spots

HYDERABAD: The GHMC has garnered as much as Rs. 5.35 crore in revenue during its open bid-cum-auction of advertising spots on various facilities owned by it, conducted by Commissioner S.P. Singh on Thursday.

The amount to be accrued for the next one year was 20 per cent more compared to last year’s figure of Rs. 1.77 crore despite the current fears of economy slowdown. The advertising spots offered were for hoardings, unipoles, central medians, lamp poles, lollipops under flyovers, obligatory flyover spans and so on. Modern conveniences are also to be constructed in 141 places divided into 11 packages in the ninth successful ‘Fund Your City’ campaign of the municipal corporation. About 24 advertising agencies participated in the auction.
