Double for Indian Audit and Accounts
NEW DELHI: Indian Audit and Accounts captured both the men’s and women’s titles in the 10th National inter-institutional carrom championship at the Siri Fort Sports Complex here.
The results:
Men: Final: Indian Audit and Accounts bt Indian Airlines 2-1 (Magesh Devraj lost to M. Nataraj 25-24, 25-22; Sasidharan bt Mohammed H. Ansari 25-22, 25-18; Raju Bhaisare & Dilip Kale bt A. Maria Irudayam & D.S. Shembrekar 25-14, 0-25, 25-24).
Third place: Petroleum Sports Board bt LIC 3-0 (Yogesh Pardeshi 25-9, 25-10; Sandeep Deorukhkar bt Prakash Gaikwad 25-22, 25-23; Ramesh Babu & Ashok Gaur bt Zahir Ahmed & Sagir Ahmed 25-4, 12-25, 25-4).
Women: Final: Indian Audit and Accounts bt LIC 2-1 (R. Sharmila bt S. Apoorva 8-25, 25-23, 25-5; D. Swarnalatha bt P. Nirmala 25-19, 19-25, 25-21; Rashmi & Radhika lost to Shilpa Joshi & N. Mythili 14-25, 19-25).
Third place: Reserve Bank of India bt BSNL 2-1 (Sangita Chandorkar lost ot Rashmi Kumari 15-25, 24-25; Kavita Somanchi bt Anitha Nayar 25-12, 25-10; Shobha & V. Latha bt Bharathi Medhi & Mangalamani 25-1, 25-14).
