‘Sufi Paranja Katha’ on celluloid

KOCHI: ‘Sufi Paranja Katha’, the Kerala Sahithya Akademi award winning novel, written by K.P. Ramanunni, is being made into a film. The production will start on November 30 in Thrissur.

Veteran director Priyanandan, who won the national award for the film ‘Pulijanmam’, will direct the film. The cast include Innocent, Jagathy Sreekumar, Thampy Antony, Sharbani Mukherji, Samvritha Sunil, Sona Nair and Manju Pillai.

‘Sufi Paranja Katha’ depicts the subtle relationships that transcend religious barriers. The central theme revolves around the reverberations in a society in the aftermath of a Hindu woman getting married to a Muslim youthThe story had gained attention from a wide spectrum of aficionados of art and literature.
