VIJAYAWADA: A delayed start is likely in the four-day Andhra-Tamil Nadu Ranji Trophy Elite ‘B’ match which begins at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium here on Saturday as the city witnessed incessant rainfall on Friday. The overnight downpour prevented both the teams from having their nets on Friday morning as the entire playing area had turned slushy. Both the teams had a couple of hours of fielding drills with the sun playing hide and seek. Andhra has included D. Prabhu Kiran in the team to beef up its batting line-up. Tamil Nadu, with 12 points from three outings, looked more buoyant and with M. Vijay back in the team the visitors now look more formidable. Both the team managements will decide on the playing eleven before the start of the play. — Principal Correspondent © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
