Over 30 injured in bus accident

KRISHNAGIRI: Over 30 people were injured in a road accident near Mathur in Krishnagiri district on Friday.

According to police, the accident occurred when a State Transport Corporation bus bound for Tiruvannamalai from Bangalore collided head-on with a private bus near Madhampathi Murugan Temple in Mathur. The private bus was travelling from Chengam to Royakottai.

Four persons with severe injuries have been admitted to the Krishnagiri Government Hospital. They were Annapurani (9) of Palacode, Gengamma (35) of Jothipatti, Raman (35) of Samalpatti and Govindaraj (50) of Chengam. The remaining were admitted to the Mathur Government Hospital.
