New Flag Officer Sea Training

Kochi: Rear Admiral Sunil Lanba has taken over as Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST) at a brief ceremony at the Naval Base here.

Rear Admiral Lanba was commissioned into the Navy on January 1, 1978, and is a specialist in navigation and direction. The Rear Admiral is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, the Defence Services Staff College, the College of Defence Management and the Royal College of Defence Studies, London. He has commanded the Naval Ships Kakinada, Himgiri, Ranvijay and Mumbai.

Rear Admiral Lanba has also been the Fleet Operations Officer of the Western Fleet and Executive Officer of the aircraft carrier INS Viraat.

He takes over the reins of FOST from Rear Admiral R.K. Pattanaik.
