BERHAMPUR: The six accused persons in the Kusumi double murder case, who were arrested in Hyderabad, were produced in Berhampur court on Friday amidst tight security. As the city police suspected there were chances of these persons getting manhandled by an angry mob, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Orissa State Armed Police (OSAP) personnel were deployed near the court. Police also used misinformation to dodge the angry mob. Initially it was informed that the accused were being brought to the city from Hyderabad by the Visakha express. The police team and the accused surely did travel by the train. But they did not prefer to get down at the Berhampur railway station. They preferred to leave the train at Itchapuram and travel to the city by a rented Sumo. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
