Opinion - News Analysis

Corrections and clarifications

* * A standalone graphic (Graphic News, “Terror in Mumbai” page, November 28, 2008), titled “Bomb attacks in India in 2008”, incorrectly depicted the major water bodies around India. What was shown to be the Arabian Sea should have been the Indian Ocean, while what was depicted as the Indian Ocean should have been the Bay of Bengal. (The Arabian Sea should have been shown to be off the west coast of India.)

* * A report “Karnataka crushes Baroda” (“Sport”, November 27, 2008) said “Tamil Nadu (13 from three) and Uttar Pradesh (11 from four) are behind Karnataka on the table. Baroda still languishes with two points.” Karnataka has 13 from four, Tamil Nadu has 12 from three (six versus UP, three versus Karnataka and three versus Maharashtra) and Baroda has four points from three matches. AP has two points.

* * A report “Morkel rocks Bangladesh” (“Sport”, November 27, 2008) said the second wicket fell at 54. The scoreboard gave it incorrectly as “2-56”.
