Stamp on St. Joseph’s high school released

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: A postage stamp to commemorate the sesquicentenary (150 years) of St. Joseph’s Boys High School was released here on Friday.

The commemorative stamp was released by Lokayukta N. Santosh Hegde. The event was a low-key affair due to the mourning announced by the Centre following the death of former Prime Minister V.P. Singh.

Speaking after releasing the stamp, Mr. Hegde called upon students to be satisfied with what they had. “We must not crave for things that are beyond our reach. Even if one wants to attain what he/she craves, he/she must try to get through honest means,” he said.

Mr. Hegde urged students to be honest and work hard.

Fr. Terence Farias, Rector, St. Joseph’s Institutions, spoke about the importance of peace, love and brotherhood in the current times. M.P. Rajan, Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka Circle, was present.
