PUDUKOTTAI: The parapet wall of a private school building was partly damaged on Friday when lightning struck it. No one was injured as the school remained closed in the wake of rain. Parts of the district experienced moderate showers on Friday. For the 24 hours ended at 8 a.m. today, Udayalipatti experienced a maximum of 81 mm; Keeranur 50 mm; Dhanakottai 41 mm; Karambakudi 32 mm; Mazhaiyur and Viralimalai 30 mm each; Alankudi 20 mm; Pudukottai 14 mm; Manamelkudi 10 mm and Aranthangi recorded 4 mm.
