NEW DELHI: Executives of Indian Oil Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum, Oil India and Engineers India Limited have decided not to follow the December 2 strike call given by the Oil Sector Officers Association , even as Petroleum Secretary R.S. Pandey on Friday held a meeting with the heads of oil PSUs and discussed the contingency plan prepared to keep refinery running and ensure uninterrupted supply of fuel to people. Unhappy over the recent recommendations on salary hike, OSOA, which represents over 50,000 executives of 14 oil sector PSUs, has called for an indefinite strike in oil sector PSUs. Executives also include from exploration major Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and Bharat Petroleum and Gas Authority of India Ltd. , apart from the companies that on Friday decided to stay way from the strike. However, officers of gas utility GAIL India and Bharat Petroleum have assured that operations would not be allowed to be disrupted. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
