Over 400 children will participate in the event today
BANGALORE: Vibrant colours and imaginative drawings will mark the finals of The Hindu Young World On-the-Spot Painting Competition on Sunday. Over 400 finalists will participate in the competition sponsored by Lotte BooProo. The event, which is in its 19th year, will be held at St. Joseph’s Boys’ High School, (near Mallya Hospital), Vittal Mallya Road, Bangalore 560001. The participants have been divided into two categories: Senior (classes eight to ten) and Junior (classes four to seven). The topics for both categories will be given at the venue. Participants are directed to carry the call letters sent to them. The competition, which is an integral part of The Hindu NIE initiative, will be held between 10 a.m. and noon, followed by the prize distribution ceremony at 1.30 p.m. The participants have to report at the venue by 9.30 a.m. PrizesThe winners of the finals will receive cash prizes and certificates from The Hindu. In addition to the first, second and third prizes, consolation prizes will also be given. They will also receive gift hampers from Lotte BooProo. Participation certificates will be given to all finalists. Snacks are sponsored by Sree Nandhana Palace. Nagappa Badiger, reader in Applied Arts, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat (KCP); V.R.C. Shekar, lecturer, Department of Painting, KCP; and Srinidhi Seshadri, guest lecturer, KCP, will judge the competition.
