BSNL introduces annual payment option

VELLORE: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has introduced an annual payment option facility in all existing plans of landline/wireless in local loop (WLL) services by levying fixed monthly charges for 10 months as against 12 months, enabling payment at a time in advance.

This facility will be available only for 90 days from December 1.

According to a release from the Divisional Engineer (Public Relations), BSNL, Vellore, the BSNL had also introduced GSM Data Cards to provide data transfer connectivity to its mobile customers in addition to the voice services.

This service was available in both the prepaid and post-paid plan categories. The cost of the data card was Rs. 300. The call conference facility was available free of cost to BSNL mobile customers. The BSNL had also introduced a GSM Mobile PCO (public call office) service in markets, railway stations, bus stands and exhibitions.

Telephone bills dated 7-11-08 and 17-11-08 could be paid up to December 3 without surcharge. Franchisees of Vellore Telecom District were authorised to collect the telephone bills. Customers of Vellore and Tiruvannamalai districts could pay the telephone bills at M/s. Sarathy Telelinks, Vellore, M/s. Jayalakshmi Info Tech, Katpadi and M/s. P.R. Mani Agencies Airfridge & Electronics, Tiruvannamalai.

Expansion work was in progress to increase broadband capacity in major exchanges of Vellore Telecom District. Interested customers had been requested to book for broadband through online or at the BSNL customer service centres to get the connection.
