Parassini Madappura festival

KANNUR: The annual ‘Puthari Thiruvappana’ festival at the Parassini Madappura Muthappan Temple here will begin on December 1.

The festival would begin with customary rituals at the Madamana Illam here at 11.30 a.m.

There would be a Muthappan ‘vellattam’ performance in the evening. ‘Kalasam ezhunnallath’ at night would be followed by fireworks at midnight.

The ‘Muthappan Thiruvappana’ would begin at 5 a.m. on December 2. Colourful processions, traditional percussion concert, a Kathakali performance and other cultural programmes would also be organised in connection with the festival.
