Mani HSS in last four

Coimbatore: Mani HSS and Suburban HSS entered the semifinals of the CDCA u-16 inter-School cricket tournament for the TSS & Co Trophy. The semifinals scheduled for Saturday were postponed to Monday due to wet weather condition.

The scores: Quarterfinals: Mani HSS 163 for seven in 20 overs (I. Bharath Chezhian 71 n.o., R.G. Srivardhan 50) bt Corpn. BHSS (Siddhapudur) 98 in 18.2 overs (R. Mahesh five for 14); Suburban HSS 117 for five in 20 overs (Sathish 43, Sundareswaran 38) bt CMS HSS 66 in 11 overs.

At Erode, S. Surendran scored a 4-2 win over Easwaramoorthy in the semifinals of the district-ranking snooker tournament. He will now meet the winner of the Chetan-Thirumurugan clash in the final.

The results: Semifinals: Singles: S. Surendran bt Easwaramoorthy 4-2. Doubles: Chetan & Surendran bt Srinivasan & Murali 3-1; Umakanth & Easwaramoorthy bt Thirumurugan & Suresh 3-1.
