NEW DELHI: The voters of Delhi were on Saturday flooded with a flurry of text messages on their mobile phones about whom they should vote for, including one that claimed to be from Bahujan Samaj Party leader and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati. A number of voters got an SMS in the morning, “Please accept my Good Morning and my Humble Request: Please cast your vote against sealing, demolition, corruption, terrorism, inflation. Mayawati CM UP.” It was not established whether the BSP had sent the message. The BJP’s IT cell convenor Vivek Goel sent SMSes to a large of number of voters with the saffron party’s pet slogan, “Mehangi Padi Congress” (Congress proved costly). - PTI © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
