Cultivate medicinal plants, farmers told

Udupi: A workshop was held here on Saturday under the Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) for members of the village forest committees and farmers. Home Minister V.S. Acharya inaugurated the programme.

Dr Acharya said that the workshop was aimed at disseminating information on how farmers could grow 35 varieties of medicinal plants and sandalwood trees using the latest technology.

As per new norms, people who grow sandalwood trees on their lands are the owners of the tree, he said.
