CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) officials say they have temporarily suspended electricity supply in many parts of the city and suburban areas as a safety measure, and not due to load shedding or shortage of power. In a press release on Friday, TNEB Member Distribution stated that due to heavy rain and release of water from Chembarambakkam and other lakes, water stagnation had occurred in many areas in city and suburban areas, including those occupied by VIPs. In order to avoid accidents due to leakage of power, electricity supply has been temporarily suspended. Monitoring situationThe officials were monitoring the situation closely.
