Spoorthy in semifinals

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh’s Spoorthy defeated Tamil Nadu’s Harshavardini 11-3, 11-7, 12-10 to enter the semifinals of the cadet girls segment in the 70th National sub-junior table tennis championship, here on Saturday.

Important results: Cadet Boys (quarterfinals): U. Gupta (Del) bt Arnab Sarkar (W Ben) 11-7, 11-3, 11-7; M. Bhodro (N Ben) bt Soumadri Bhattacharjee (W Ben) 11-9, 9-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-3, S. Shaw (W Ben) bt Akash Gupta (Ukd) 11-8, 11-6, 11-9.
