Dakshina Kannada wins

SHIMOGA: Dakshina Kannada district won the overall championship in the State-level Secondary School athletics meet (under-17) which concluded at the Nehru Stadium here on Saturday evening.

Bheemappa Mahadevappa Patil of Dakshina Kannada won the individual championship in the boys’ section while Baby Soumya of the Sports School of Kodugu district won this honour in the girls’ section. — Special Correspondent
