NEW DELHI: Authorities have stepped up security after receiving an anonymous e-mail on Sunday threatening to blow up the Indira Gandhi International Airport here. Apparently the information was received by a television channel that passed on the information to the authorities. “The Delhi airport has been on high alert since the terror strikes in Mumbai. We had sought additional manpower. Now within the existing strength, we will put additional duties and curtailed the administrative tasks so that the focus is on the security aspect,” said sources in the Central Industrial Security Force that manages the security at the airport. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
