K.K. Murthy awards presented

Bangalore: K.K. Murthy Memorial Chowdiah Awards were given away to two veteran Carnatic musicians — Nedunuri Krishnamurthy and R. Vishweshwaran — by the Academy of Music here on Sunday.

The award ceremony was the finale of the five-day music festival organised by the academy, which included concerts and lecture demonstrations. The awards were given away by Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly M. Mallikarjun Kharge.

The award ceremony was followed by a concert by well-known mandolin maestro U. Srinivas.
