Chen Jin triumphs

HONG KONG: Olympic gold medallist Lin Dan suffered a surprise defeat to Chen Jin in an all-Chinese final at the Yonex-Sunrise Hong Kong Open Super Series 2008.

Lin, the World No.2 and second seed, was beaten 21-9, 9-21, 21-17 by third-seeded Chen in a topsy-turvy match.

“I’m not surprised to beat Lin,” said Chen afterwards. “I beat him at the All England Championships earlier this year.” “I think the first game was critical and I won some critical points,” he added.
