KOLKATA: Tamil Nadu was bowled out for 226 in its first innings against Uttar Pradesh on the opening day of the four-day C.K. Nayudu Trophy pre-quarterfinal here on Sunday.

On a seaming wicket, only N. Einstein (78) and K.H. Gopinath (40) came good for Tamil Nadu.

In reply, Uttar Pradesh reached 83 for one at stumps with Ankit Paul batting on 48.
