Sporting downs JCT

Margao: Sporting Clube de Goa continued to keep its winning momentum going as it overcame a stiff challenge to down JCT 2-1 in the ONGC I-league at the Nehru stadium here on Sunday.

Both the goals were scored by Junior Obagbemiro (29th, 47th). JCT reduced the margin in the 56th minute through Jagpreet Singh.

Bibiano Fernandes from the middle relayed the ball to Joseph Pereira on the left who controlled the ball and essayed a low shot which keeper Karanjit Singh managed to block by diving to his left, the deflection went to onrushing Obagbemiro who tapped the ball in.

He increased the lead soon after the interval when he shot home a cross from Bibiano Fernandes. — PTI
