DCC tributes to terror victims

Thiruvananthapuram: Glowing tributes were paid to the security personnel who laid down their lives fighting the terrorists who unleashed violence in Mumbai at a function organised by the District Congress Committee (DCC) here on Monday.

Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy who inaugurated the function said the nation had sent out a strong message by coming together in a crisis.

He said the former Home Minister Shivraj Patel had set an example by assuming moral responsibility and stepping down in the wake of the terrorist attack.

KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala administered a pledge expressing solidarity. Speaking on the occasion, he said the attack was a conspiracy by external elements to destabilise the nation.

DCC president V.S. Sivakumar presided. Gandhian P.Gopinathan Nair inaugurated the meeting.

A musical performance was also held.
