BANGALORE: A gang of persons reportedly stole mobile phones, recharge coupons and mobile phone accessories worth Rs. 1.13 lakh from a shop in Thyagaraja Nagar here on Friday. According to the Thyagaraja Nagar police, the theft occurred at Shajil Mobile Shop on Thyagaraja Nagar 3rd Block. The gang entered the shop by breaking open the locks. RecoveredThe Nelamangala police recovered a stolen lorry on Friday and solved the murder of a watchman. B.A. Mahesh, Superintendent of Police (Bangalore Rural District), said that a gang of five persons waylaid the lorry, which was transporting 15 tonnes of steel, near Dobbspet on November 26. Later, the gang drove the vehicle to Shivagange and assaulted a watchman Ronald, who was in the lorry. The accused also assaulted the lorry driver. They fled with the vehicle after throwing Ronald’s body into a well. The arrested accused have been identified as Shabari Girisha, Nagaraja alias Naga, Dinesha alias Kardi, Chetana and Shekarappa, all residents of Dobbspet.
