VIZIANAGARAM: Lok Satta Party has demanded that the Lok Ayukta suo motu admit the allegations and counter-allegations of corruption levelled against leaders by both the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party. At a press conference on Monday, the party district president B. A. Babji said that it had become common knowledge of the people that both ruling and opposition parties trade charges of corruption against individual leaders before elections and join hands later to loot public money. He said that the party would submit newspaper clippings on allegations made against each other to the Lok Ayukta as public property was involved. He demanded that special courts be set up in each district to try corruption cases. Mr. Babji said that his party had already begun meeting people door-to-door in wards and canvassing for the party. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
