Two held for carrying weapons

Two persons, who were in possession of deadly weapons, were taken into custody near Ambattur early on Sunday.

Police said that a luxury car was intercepted by a team led by Maduravoyal Inspector V. Tamilvanan. Lethal weapons were found in the possession of the accused, J. Pradeep (25) of Parivakkam and G. Murugan (25) of Nemili. They were arrested and charged under the provisions of the Indian Arms Act and the IPC.

“They were planning to commit a major offence,” Mr. Tamilvanan said.
