Dentist extracts more than a tooth for a tooth

BANGALORE: The police are looking for a dentist who allegedly lopped off her doctor friend’s private parts after he recently married another girl.

The case came to light after the doctor was hospitalised here on Saturday.

The Koramangala police said Mir Arshad Ali, the doctor, and Syed Ameena, the dentist, were both from N.R. Mohalla in Mysore and knew each other for the past 10 years. Three months ago Dr. Ali married another woman.

On November 29, Dr. Ameena invited Dr. Ali to her clinic in Koramangala 8th Block she gave him juice spiked with sedatives. When he became unconscious, she allegedly used a surgical blade to excise his penis.

The police came to know of the case on Sunday evening after hospital authorities called them. Dr. Ali, who was initially reluctant to give details, later broke down and told them what happened.

“He could have died of the sedative’s effects,” said a senior police officer, who wished to remain anonymous.

The hospital authorities refused to comment. “We have been instructed by the patient not to give any details. He is stable and going to be fine,” said a spokesperson.

Dr. Ali and his relatives were not inclined to talk.
