Hotels told to collect fingerprints of all guests They have been told to deploy armed security guards
High alert: Security at luxury hotels in Bangalore has been stepped up following the terror attacks in Mumbai. BANGALORE: Following the discussions of Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa with representatives of industries and luxury hotels, the city police on Monday began the process of reviewing the security arrangements at luxury hotels and commercial establishments. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) G. Ramesh on Monday held meeting with representatives of Windsor Sheraton, Grand Ashok, Solitaire, Le Meridian, Hotel Taj West End, Gold Finch, 37 Crescent, Sigma Mall. The representatives of Garuda Mall and other commercial establishments in the central part of the city attended the meeting. Reiterating the aspects mentioned in Mr. Yeddyurappa’s meeting on November 29, Mr. Ramesh pointed out the necessity of installing gadgets such as metal detectors, CCTV cameras with maximum footage storage capacity and electric fence. They were asked to deploy armed security guards, who are provided with bullet-proof jackets and helmets. They have been asked to purchase firearms and ammunition after taking permission from the police. The representatives have been asked to strengthen their intelligence network too. Speed breakers should be put on the roads leading into the premises and also at the exit points. The police have asked the hotels to collect fingerprints and photographs of all the guests. They have been asked to thoroughly screen the baggage. “We have clearly told the establishments to carry out our instructions. Our main aim is to prevent any possible attack,” Mr. Ramesh told The Hindu. On November 29, Mr. Yeddyurappa called the meeting of the representatives from the industry and hotels in light of the terror attacks in Mumbai. The meeting was attended by Home Minister V.S.
