The management programme will start from February 9 It is designed for entrepreneurs and owners of family businesses Bangalore: The Nadathur S. Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL), set up by the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), has announced admissions to the third batch of the Management Programme for Entrepreneurs and Family Businesses (MPEFB 3), starting February 9. K. Kumar, chairperson, NSRCEL, said that significant enhancements have been made to the course content that has been designed to support the learning needs of entrepreneurs, those who are starting their business, as well as those who feel the need to streamline and upgrade their business by acquiring advanced management skills. “This course provides an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs to acquire much needed managerial skills. The format of the course helps them to accomplish this even as they continue to manage their business,” he said. In the contemporary economic scenario, entrepreneurs need to up skill and update themselves with good business management concepts and practices, so as to cope with an ever challenging business environment. Designed exclusively for entrepreneurs and owners of family businesses, the programme aims to enhance the quality of business management skills in entrepreneurial firms by proving a workable model for entrepreneurs to acquire such skills. Accordingly, leading-edge web-based e-learning methods are judiciously blended with traditional classroom teaching to provide reach and convenience. Admissions are based on multiple criteria. The candidate needs to be a graduate in any discipline. All candidates should submit a 150-word statement of purpose along with the application. They should be aged between 25 years and 45 years and must have some experience as entrepreneurs. The batch size of this programme is 60. The academic year will run from February 9, 2009 to February 5, 2010, over four terms. The last date to apply for the programme is December 7.
