Speed boat to boost port security

TUTICORIN: In order to strengthen security in and around the port, a speed boat was handed over to the Central Industrial Security Force by G. J. Rao, Chairman, Tuticorin Port Trust, on Monday.

The port will install closed circuit television cameras and radio frequency identification (RFID) system on the port premises.

The Chairman held a review meeting with all stakeholders, including Navy, Coast Guard, port users, truck owners’ association, Tuticorin Stevedores Association, associations of fishermen community, trade unions, CISF, police and district administration and reviewed the security situation.
