NAMAKKAL: National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC) has asked poultry farmers in Namakkal not to resort to any panic selling of eggs. Demand upThe committee has pointed out that with the onset of winter in North India, the demand for eggs has increased. The egg rates would improve further as there is a shortage in all zones. It further points out that if farmers find any difficulty in selling eggs, they can contact the NECC zonal office, which will make necessary arrangements to lift any surplus eggs from Namakkal for cold storage. The NECC reaction is considered to be the fall-out of the suspected bird flu outbreak in Assam. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
