Spurious bleaching powder seized

CHENNAI: Officials of the Bureau of Indian Standards seized substantial quantities of spurious bleaching powder marked with the ISI brand and packaging materials used to store it in raids conducted at Hosur on November 27.

Action is being initiated by the BIS against the offender. A release from the BIS also appealed to the public to contact the BIS Southern Regional Office, Taramani, Ph: 04422541076, fax: 04422541087, if they come across any such misuse of the ISI mark on any product.
