CHENNAI: The Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication (SIMC), Pune, will present ‘Footprints 2008,’ a series of media seminars held across 21 cities in India and Dubai. The Chennai chapter of ‘Footprints 2008’ will be held at the Chinmaya Heritage Centre, Chetpet, on December 5. The SIMC offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in media and communications. The event features noted speakers, including N. Ram, Editor-in-chief, The Hindu, Kiruba Sankar, a blogger, film directors S.P Muthuraman and Gautham Vasudev Menon, actor Prakash Raj and actor-dancer Swarnamalaya. WorkshopsWorkshops on brand awareness and theatre are to be conducted by Mythili Chandrasekharan of JWT and Amit Singh of ASAP Productions respectively. School and college students could form teams and take part in the Adzap contest, says a release. A young media professional from the city will also be awarded the ‘Young Achievers Award.’ Photography contestA photography contest on the theme, ‘Namma Chennai,’ is open to budding photographers.
