Dana Gillespie BANGALORE: Some of the internationally renowned jazz artistes will be enthralling Bangaloreans with soulful jazz and blues during a two-day Jazz and Blues fest commencing on December 12. The curtain raiser for this festival will have acclaimed blues singer Dana Gillespie belting out her famous numbers. The festival, featuring national jazz musicians also, will provide a window of 45 to 60 minutes for each performer. The event being organised at the KSLTA Tennis Stadium at Cubbon Park in the city will coincide with the launch of the third edition of the Kingfisher Explocity Great Food Guide Bangalore 2009. The festival will feature India’s best known jazz musician Louiz Banks and his quartet featuring jazz diva Radha Thomas, will perform on December 13. Other performers include The Amit Heri Group featuring Ranjit Barot, Karl Peters and Martin Visser; Gerard Machado and Megha with Suma Sudhindra; Interplay featuring Sonia Saigal, Holger Jetter, Adrian D’Souza and Harmet Manseta; Moonarra featuring guitarist Jagadeesh, Madhuri (vocals), Dwight, Karthik and Prakash Sontakke. In addition, the Rajiv Raja Group and Pink Noise will be performing, according to a press release issued here on Tuesday. Shekhar Ramamurthy, deputy president, United Breweries Ltd, said: “The Kingfisher promise of providing a good time blends perfectly with the sounds and music of contemporary Jazz. Our partnership with Explocity over the years has created a wonderful and spirited collaboration.
