Water level

MADURAI: Water level in the Periyar dam on Tuesday stood at 119.80 feet (full level 136 feet) with an inflow of 1,785 cusecs and a discharge of 1,037 cusecs. The level in the Vaigai dam was 66.01 feet (71 feet) with an inflow of 1,158 cusecs and a discharge of 82 cusecs. The combined Periyar credit stood at 4,159 mcft. Sothuparai dam recorded 43 mm of rainfall followed by Manjalar dam 18, Marudhanadi 12.5, Idyapatti 7.4, Shanmuganadi, Uthamapalayam, Vaigai dam and Thaniyamangalam 5 each, Tekkadi and Pulipatti 4 each, Gudular 3.6, Sittampatti 2 and Veerapandi 1.
