Upgrading work at telephone exchanges

TIRUNELVELI: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s Tirunelveli Telecom District has planned to carryout hi-tech upgrading work of Shencottai and connected telephone exchanges of Vadakarai and Puliyarai between Thursday (December 4) midnight and 3 a.m. of Friday (December 5).

According to V. Raju, General Manager, BSNL, Tirunelveli, Dynamic Locking Facility will automatically be activated due to the technical upgrading in telephone connections, which have not been locked dynamically by the subscribers, who can use their pre-registered dynamic locking code to access STD / ISD facilities.

Moreover, the call waiting facility will also be activated automatically from Thursday midnight. This facility can either be barred or activated by dialling the code number 119 or 118 respectively. Owing to this hi-tech upgrading, the customers of Shencottai and the connected telephone exchanges can apply and get the additional facility called ‘Centrex’ and can then call the telephone numbers starting with 232, 233, 234, 235, 285, 237 and 238 on monthly rental charges alone without any call charges.
