Naxalite killed

WARANGAL: One naxal belonging to Praja Pratighatana group was killed in an encounter in Gangaram forest area in Kothaguda mandal in the wee hours of Wednesday. According to the police, the special parties were checking the vehicles on Khammam border on the eve of PPG anniversary celebrations.

The police tried to stop an ambassador car which was coming from Yellandu of Khammam district but the driver did not stop and the police began chasing it. The driver stopped the car after a while and suddenly opened fire at the police and tried to escape . When the police retaliated, the naxal was killed.
