Students carry banners and placards asking people to protect the national land resources
For a cause: Students in Krishnagiri taking out a rally on Thursday to create awareness on the need to protect the national land resources. KRISHNAGIRI: School students in large numbers participated in a rally organised to create awareness on the need to protect national land resources. District Collector V.K. Shanmugam flagged off the rally at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School playground on Thursday. It culminated at the District Sports Stadium in Kattikanapalli on Royakottai Road. Saplings plantedMr. Shanmugam also planted saplings at the stadium. About 100 tree-saplings would be planted around the playground. The agricultural department supplied the saplings. 400 studentsAbout 400 students from Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Krishnagiri Municipal Middle School participated. Students displayed banners and placards urging the public to protect the land resources of the country. District Sports Officer Mr. V. Venkatram organized the rally. The Chief Educational Office Mr. M. Baskaran and DEO Mr. Arulmozhi were participated at the flagging off function.
