Woman succumbs to burn injuries

KARUR: A woman was killed and her husband and daughter suffered burn injuries at Kaniyalampatti in Karur district on Thursday. Vijayalakshmi (25) was cooking when the fire engulfed her on Wednesday. Her husband P. Senthil (30) and their three-year-old daughter Darshini rushed to her help but all the three suffered burn injuries and were rushed to Government Hospital, Karur. Vijayalaksmi succumbed to burns on Thursday while Senthil and Darshini were undergoing treatment.

Mayanur police have registered a case and are investigating. An inquiry by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Kulithalai, has been ordered into the death of the woman.
