Small savings target fixed at Rs.220 crore

TIRUCHI: Tiruchi district has been fixed a small savings mobilisation target of Rs.220 crore during 2008-09 and Rs.150.47 crore till the end of December, said P. Ilango, Director of Small Savings.

Chairing a meeting to review the performance here on Thusday, Mr. Ilango said the incentive given to the districts every year for good performance in small savings mobilisation was being used for infrastructure development. Mr. Ilango distributed Rs.1.06 lakh as incentives, along with commendation certificates, to 88 small savings agents. Collector T. Soundiah said all efforts were being made to achieve the and urged the agents to leave no stone unturned. A. Thilakamani, Personal Assistant (Small Savings) to the Collector attended the meeting.
