Ensure functioning of surveillance cameras

The Federation of Consumer and Service Organisations has appealed to the district administration and the police to ensure the functioning of surveillance cameras at bus stands and other important places. The cameras had become non-functional after the sponsors stopped their operation as advertisement hoardings, which brought in the revenue for their maintenance, were removed by the corporation. Its convenor Mr.Sekaran, in a statement, said the cameras should continue to be operated.
