HYDERABAD: Trainers faking their certificates will soon come under legal scanner. Private software training institutes using pirated versions of software too will face prosecution. At least one major company, PTC, a leader in CAD, CAM and CAE designing software, is all set to crack down on such institutes. The company has already employed a qualified person to detect piracy. The company is seeking legal advice from a Pune-based law firm on how to go about it. Based on the advice, PTC will act on such institutes, according to senior marketing manager of PTC Rohit Bidappa. “Already some institutes in Chennai and North India came under our radar,” he said. Mohan Kumar, director of global services of the company, said action would be initiated against those claiming to be authorised partners of PTC and those using pirated versions of ‘EngineerPro’ (the benchmark software of PTC) to train students. He announced at a press conference here on Thursday that the company entered into a tie-up with Engineers CADD Centre Pvt Ltd (ECC), making it the only institute in the State, to train students in EngineerPro. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
