HYDERABAD: The State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday demanded the Director-General of Police (DGP) to order a probe into circumstances that led to Wednesday’s shootout at Santoshnagar. In a memorandum submitted to the DGP here, BJP legislator G. Kishan Reddy alleged that the incident occurred only because of lapses committed by senior police officials. “How can senior officers send a few constables without arms to nab a terror suspect?” he asked and stated that the city had virtually become a safe haven for ISI activities. He requested the DGP to take proactive measures to prevent increasing terrorist activities in twin cities. © Copyright 2000 - 2009 The Hindu |
