Describing himself as a “son of a farmer”, Mr. Yeddyurappa traced his roots to Mandya district, and said he would try to make it a role model for others to emulate. He blamed the previous governments for failing to ensure comprehensive development of the district and sought votes for the party candidate D.C. Thammanna. IssuesThe Chief Minister listed out a few problems plaguing the State, such as the power crisis. He said the Government had inherited it and it would be resolved after the byelections as there was an agreement with the Chhattisgarh Government to procure power from that State.
